In March 2025, some of our colleagues traveled to Kenya to visit our growers and inaugurate a special project. From the official opening of a water well to exploring new partnerships, this trip was all about sustainability, quality, and engagement. In this retrospective, we share the key highlights of this inspiring experience.

Kraaijeveld Cares – Water Well Officially Opened

In June 2024, we launched a special project in Kenya: the construction of a water well to provide clean drinking water to both the local population and our growers. In week 10, the moment finally arrived - our colleagues were present at the official opening of the well. Together with the farm’s growers, we celebrated this special occasion and proudly witnessed how the well immediately made a difference. Thanks to this facility, clean drinking water is now within reach for many, contributing to a healthier and more sustainable living environment.

Visiting Our Herb Growers

During this trip, we also visited our herb growers. Together with them, we had the opportunity to closely observe the cultivation process and learn how the herbs are grown with care and expertise. By engaging in personal conversations with the growers, we gained valuable insights into the challenges and innovations within the sector. This visit reinforced the importance of our collaboration with growers in ensuring high-quality and consistent products.

Searching for New Avocado Growers

In addition to visiting our existing partners, we also explored new, promising growers in Kenya who can help us source avocados as close to the origin as possible. To provide our customers with high-quality avocados year-round, we are expanding beyond our strong supply lines from Peru by adding Kenyan lines. Reliable and sustainable partners are key in this process. During our visit, we met various growers and analyzed their working methods—an important step in ensuring top quality and building long-term relationships.
